Central Coast Council is inviting the community to view and provide feedback on the draft Central Coast Youth Strategy 2026-2031 that is now on public exhibition until 28 June 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Central Coast Youth Strategy sets Council\u2019s direction for the next five years, guiding priorities, decision-making, partnerships and investment to support young people aged 12 to 24 to feel valued, supported and empowered to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The draft Strategy is shaped by what young people said matters most during Council\u2019s 2025 community consultation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More than 556 local young people, youth workers and community members shared thoughtful and honest feedback through a mix of broad and targeted engagement activities, including workshops, pop-up sessions, surveys and idea boards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Strategy also responds to the challenges young people in the Central Coast face around mental health, cost of living, housing, and access to education and employment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Strategy is guided by six key focus areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council Mayor, Lawrie McKinna said strong community engagement has ensured that the voices of local young people are reflected in the Central Coast Youth Strategy and its guiding actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYoung people shared that they want to feel heard, included and respected, with better access to opportunities, safe spaces and support,\u201d Mayor McKinna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis feedback has directly shaped the Strategy\u2019s priorities and focus areas, helping ensure young people have a genuine voice in Council decisions that affect their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe all play a part in supporting young people on the Central Coast. By working in partnership with our community, youth services and local organisations, we\u2019re creating more opportunities for young people to feel supported, connected and empowered to build their future here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
