Box 4 a Buck<\/strong> is a community based initiative launched in April 2019 by Tuggerah based business Farm Fresh 2U. The concept was created with love and is simple. Together with the help of their generous clients they deliver complimentary fresh produce boxes each week to families on the Coast struggling financially or in need due to health reasons, loss of employment or just doing it tough. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe first realised we were in a position to do something when we heard stories from our customers that children and their families were skipping meals and struggling to afford fresh food,\u201d said Russell Clarke, Director. \u201cWe came up with the initiative which combines our resources with small voluntary donations from customers to support Coasties who are down on their luck and need a boost. Recipients of each box are either nominated by our customers, the Central Coast community or a charitable organisation.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2019 the small family business donated over 100 boxes with their current total for this year sitting at 64 boxes. \u201cWe\u2019re committed to \u2018Box 4 A Buck\u2019 and our customers have been massive supporters because we all know that helping those in need benefits everyone on the Coast. It\u2019s the right thing to do,\u201d said Russell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the voluntary nature of the initiative there\u2019s no pressure on their customers. \u201cWhen a client submits their online order for fresh Australian grown produce we source directly from the markets, if they\u2019re able to contribute a few extra dollars to their order as a \u2018donation\u2019 then they do. Each week the donations grow which then allows us to offer the complimentary boxes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farm Fresh 2U would love to \u2018reach\u2019 even more Coasties and delivery more boxes of fresh produce to families that need it most, especially in these difficult Covid times. Thanks to Box 4 a Buck, Russell and his team have also partnered with local charitable group Coast Hands by supplying hand held fruits to feed the homeless here on the Coast.  This has now extended to providing fresh vegetables to assist with cooked meals weekly for those most vulnerable. \u201cMany hands make light work and it\u2019s great to see that the community spirit is alive and well here on the Central Coast,\u201d said Russell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
