Laughing and singing make a great combination and the award-winning Central Coast a Cappella group, Coastal a Cappella are back doing both!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like many community groups they\u2019ve been unable to get together or rehearse for months so the unspent energy is palpable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group is currently preparing for a show on 7 May at the Red Tree Theatre in Tuggerah, part of a new multi-purpose community space funded by the Elderslee Foundation. It\u2019s an intimate venue so the audience feels well connected to the action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aptly named Coastal a Cappella LIVE!<\/em>, the show is energetic and full of beautiful harmonies and fun. Guest artists include up and coming young talent from the local area as well as a seasoned Central Coast acting talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Like many community groups, for most of the past two years Coastal a Cappella has been unable to put on any performances which help fund many of the ongoing costs of the chorus – voice and performance coaches, venue hire, costumes and risers, as well as reaching out to encourage new membership from the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis year we are proudly supported by the Central Coast Council Community Development Grant Program,\u201d said Events Manager Jennie Harrison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Grant funding helped us with venue costs which made it possible to put on a show after a long time and also which we hope will continue to entertain local audiences and encourage singers to be involved in our group.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt makes us really feel part of the Coast community and meets our chorus aim to pursue musical excellence to enrich the lives of our members, audiences and the wider community,\u201d said Jennie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Coastal a Cappella is an award-winning women\u2019s a Cappella group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They compete regularly in the Sydney Eisteddfod and an annual competition held in various venues around Australia. In 2021 they took out third place in the Sydney Eisteddfod Show Choir section, and were winners of the inaugural Short + Sweet voices competition when it was held in Sydney. And they also appeared on Channel 7\u2019s Sunrise<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are 2 shows only, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm at the Red Tree Theatre, Tuggerah.
