On 22 June 2023, St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School celebrated it\u2019s 100 year anniversary, a huge milestone in the school community\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are filled with gratitude and pride after last week\u2019s 100 Years\u2019 Celebration and Mass lead by Bishop Anthony of the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay. Thank you to every single person who attended the event to mark this significant milestone for our brilliant school. Our deepest appreciation goes to the countless number of teachers, principals, nuns, staff, parishioners, parents, students, and families that have played a role in shaping the thriving school you see today. We know in our hearts, SJB will stand strong in the Woy Woy Peninsula community, well into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately 750 people (including students) attended the school\u2019s centenary celebrations at Dulkara Rd in Woy Woy. The day opened with a beautiful Acknowledgement of Country and Principal\u2019s Address, followed by a formal Mass Celebration, a band performance, memorabilia, photo displays, speeches in the school\u2019s library, and a catered lunch for all in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCongratulations and well done on a great anniversary celebration SJB School. It was an honour to be a part of today\u2019s celebrations. It sure brought back some memories for many of the teachers, principals, students, and parents that were in attendance, who have helped shape this strong school community over the past 100 years.\u201d Jane Rutherford, Parent and Parish Community Member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHappy one hundred – and one-year anniversary to this fantastic school community! St John the Baptist Church was first used as a school in 1922, such a big milestone that we have been celebrating since 2022, culminating in today\u2019s official Mass and Celebration.\u201d Bishop Anthony, Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SJB will continue celebrating it\u2019s 100-year birthday with a fun day on the last day of school on 29 June in Term 2, where students have been invited to dress up as 100-year-olds for the occasion. More fun ahead!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School<\/strong> is located at 21a Dulkara Road Woy Woy and is enrolling now across all grades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
