The Central Coast can gorge itself on big laughs this January, when Dave O\u2019Neil and Brad Oakes inject some serious silliness into the Summer@ The Art House program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of wave one of the Summer@ festivities, O\u2019Neil will bring big belly laughs with his new show \u2013 Overweight Lightweight<\/em> \u2013 and Oakes will impart morsels of wisdom with his comedy masterclass \u2013 The Art of The Laugh<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fresh from a sell-out run at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, O\u2019Neil may call himself a lightweight but with over 30 years of experience, his cheeky brand of humour has made him one of the country\u2019s most loved comedians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O\u2019Neil has appeared on numerous Aussie TV shows including: Hughesy, We Have A Problem, Have You Been Paying Attention?, The Project, The Yearly, Agony, Utopia, Talkin\u2019 \u2018Bout Your Generation, The Panel <\/em>and The Fat.<\/em> He also has the honour of being the guest with the most appearances on ABC TV\u2019s Spicks & Specks. A <\/em>celebrated broadcaster, he\u2019s tickled funny bones on Nova Radio on and off for years; and is also the creator of popular podcast The Debrief \u2013 with Dave O\u2019Neil<\/em>, where he drives comedians\u2019 home from a gig and discusses comedy and their career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brad Oakes will join O\u2019Neil onstage, uniting two of the biggest names in Australian comedy in one gig. With a career spanning two decades, Oakesis best known for his TV work on Hey Hey It\u2019s Saturday<\/em>, Totally Full Frontal<\/em> and The Comedy Company<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The comic\u2019s comic, Oakes has mentored and directed some of the nation\u2019s freshest comedy heavyweights, including Tommy Little, Claire Hooper and Corrine Grant; and Coasties can also receive this worldclass mentorship when Oakes hosts his comedy masterclass \u2013 The Art of The Laugh<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first workshop of its kind to grace the venue, this masterclass is proof of The Art House\u2019s commitment to providing opportunities, pathways, and expertise in the creative and performing arts for everybody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
