Central Coast Council is encouraging the community to bring along a picnic rug and enjoy live music on the waterfront to celebrate Australia Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The annual community event will return to Gosford Leagues Club Park on Friday 26 January from 4-9pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council\u2019s Unit Manager of Community and Culture, Glenn Cannard said the all-age event is a chance for the community to come together and enjoy a picnic like atmosphere with family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have a great evening planned with live entertainment, food stalls, kids\u2019 activities and a fireworks display over Brisbane Water to finish the night,\u201d Mr Cannard said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTo make sure the evening can run smoothly, we will have some road closures in place to keep event-goers safe in and around the park.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council\u2019s Administrator, Rik Hart said the annual event will be among the first of the year to bring the Central Coast community together, with large crowds anticipated to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe evening will be a great chance to celebrate the end of the summer holidays like a Coastie with a picnic on the foreshore, kicking back listening to live music,\u201d Mr Hart said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis alcohol-free event is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together and enjoy themselves in a fun and safe environment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will be plenty of activities for the kids to stay entertained with a circus workshop, a sports play area and more, while the rest of the crowd will be serenaded by Sybella, Jump, The Ritzy Kids and Joel Leggett, headlined by Bermuda Social.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fireworks will be a fantastic conclusion to the festivities, however due to their sound and bright lights Council encourages all nearby pet-owning residents to make sure their animals are kept inside to reduce additional stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
