Country music songbird Courtney Keil<\/strong> teams up with the incomparable Gina Jeffreys<\/strong> on her latest single, \u2018Worn In\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Courtney <\/strong>often fuses the sounds of 90s country queens with a contemporary edge; a style in which her silky vocal certainly sounds \u2018worn in\u2019. The nostalgic production also serves as the perfect backdrop for a duet with Jeffreys<\/strong> \u2013 a 90s country queen in her own right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Courtney<\/strong> admits the song initially wasn\u2019t intended to be a duet, eventually signing on Jeffrey\u2019s <\/strong>was a no-brainer. \u201cThe more I came back to the song, I couldn’t help but hear a strong female duet voice on it. The beautiful, Gina Jeffreys, who of course is my mentor and dear friend agreed to collaborate with me on the track.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pair sound as if they\u2019ve sung the song for years, thanks to a real-life friendship reminiscent of the song\u2019s title. \u201cI first met Courtney back in 2020 just as the world was shutting down due to the pandemic,\u201d<\/em> recalls Jeffreys<\/strong>. Unable to collaborate in person, they took to Zoom and a friendship sparked. \u201cCourtney and I became great friends, spending many hours writing and talking during the pandemic. I think Courtney is an old soul and we feel like we have known each other for a hundred years, so when she asked me if I\u2019d like to be a guest on her new song Worn In \u2013 I was truly honoured.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song gets its airtight production courtesy of Rod McCormack<\/strong>; multi-award-winning producer, long-time collaborator with Courtney <\/strong>and husband to Jeffreys<\/strong>. Within his Central Coast studio, The Music Cellar, the future hit took shape. \u201cI couldn’t be happier with the result – it gave me goosebumps the first official listen through,\u201d<\/em> says Courtney<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Worn In\u2019<\/strong> is the anticipated follow-up to Courtney\u2019s<\/strong> single, \u2018All About You\u2019<\/strong>; a passionately charged up-tempo track, which rose to #28<\/strong> on the CountryTown Hot 50 <\/strong>airplay charts. Recently the singer-songwriter has received many accolades, including \u2018Best Female Vocal\u2019<\/strong> at the 2023 & 2024 Australian Country Music People\u2019s Choice Awards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the road she\u2019s warmed up stages for some the best in the biz \u2013 Adam Harvey<\/strong>, The Whitlams Black Stump <\/strong>and her duet partner, Gina Jeffreys<\/strong>. Most recently she delighted audiences in opening slots for superstars Brain Cadd<\/strong> and Karise Eden<\/strong>. Later this year she\u2019ll join a stellar line-up at the revered Gympie Music Muster<\/strong> in Queensland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
