The upgraded playspace at Spencer Waterfront is now open to the community \u2013 with works being completed thanks to a $50,000 grant from the Australian Government\u2019s Investing in our Communities (IiOC) grant and $45,000 from Central Coast Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Central Coast Council Director Community and Recreation Services, Melanie Smith said the upgraded playspace now includes a swing set, climbing and slide unit, rocker, rubber softfall and picnic table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are really delighted that this work has been done, and now provides a modern playspace for locals and visitors to enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local resident and Community Liaison Officer, Robyn Downham and co-founder of the community group River Cares has campaigned since the completion of the Spencer public amenities in January 2023 and is delighted and very appreciative that the new children\u2019s playspace for Spencer has been addressed and is now open for the local residents and visitors to enjoy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis new playspace offers multiple activities for a range of ages and abilities to help children play and socialise. On behalf of the Spencer community River Cares would like to thank the Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid and the Central Coast Council for making the upgrade of the new children\u2019s playspace for Spencer possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis new playspace will help improve community connectivity and boost tourism by encouraging more families to come and visit \u2018the Hub of the Universe\u2019 in Spencer!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid said he welcomes the completion of the new Spencer playspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis playground will be loved by Spencer locals and visitors to the area for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Australian Government is committed to improving community facilities which strengthen regions\u201d, Dr Reid said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council Administrator Rik Hart said that the upgrade of Spencer playground is part of Council\u2019s overall strategy to see enhanced playspaces across the Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs the Central Coast community grows, it has never been more important to provide young families and children with great outdoor playspaces, where kids can simply be kids, while enjoying the wonderful outdoors of the Central Coast,\u201d Mr Hart said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
