Central Coast Council has placed an update to the Plan of Management for Council Community Land on public exhibition for community feedback. The update includes newly acquired or identified land, re-classified land lots, as well as changes to the categorisation of some lots already included in the existing plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council Acting Director Environment and Planning, Jamie Loader said the proposed update to the Plan of Management will focus on amending the Land Schedule and the maps which show how land is categorised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A Plan of Management categorises community land based on its characteristics and outlines how Council will use and manage the land in accordance with the Local Government Act and provides a transparent and coordinated approach to public land management,\u201d Mr Loader said.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCouncil owns around 2500 lots of community land which includes a wide variety of properties ranging from small recreation reserves to iconic parks, beaches, natural areas and community facilities such as sportsgrounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCommunity land supports important aspects of community life and provides opportunities for recreation, leisure, and community services. Also, a large amount of community land is reserved to protect the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first area-wide Plan of Management for Council Community Land was developed in consultation with the Central Coast community in 2023. The proposed Plan of Management Update will categorise 158 newly acquired land or reclassified land lots. In response to community feedback, it is also proposing to re-categorise 114 land lots that were already included in the existing Plan of Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council Administrator, Rik Hart said consultation is very important to ensure land planning and management documents are updated in line with community needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI invite members of our community to attend a Public Hearing, read the Plan of Management for Council Community Land Update and associated mapping, and make a submission during the public exhibition period which closes on 25 November 2024,\u201d Mr Hart said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI strongly believe that community feedback helps inform Council decisions and ensures that people\u2019s aspirations and needs are taken into consideration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three public hearings are scheduled to give the public an opportunity to discuss community land parcels included in the proposed update. The hearings will be held on the following dates and times: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
