A group of leading obstetricians on the Central Coast have voiced their deep disappointment at Healthe Care\u2019s decision to close the Maternity Unit at Gosford Private Hospital, effective 31 March 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The closure of the Maternity Unit at Gosford Private severely restricts the choice of private care for expectant mothers, limiting their ability to access a range of high-quality, personalised obstetric services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local obstetricians believe this decision undermines patient autonomy and reduces the care options available to women during one of the most important moments of their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leading Central Coast Obstetrician, Dr Peta Skilbeck said, \u201cI am deeply disappointed for the women of the Central Coast. However, having had both my babies at Gosford Hospital, I can personally vouch for the amazing care they provide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
