Spring is well and truly in the air and with school holidays coming, Central Coast Council has released its much-anticipated program of activities for a fun filled break for all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the school holidays (Monday 29 September to Friday 10 October) a huge selection of activities will be available across the Coast with the vast majority of these being free or at minimal cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of the program highlights: \u201cThese programs keep young minds and bodies active while showcasing Council\u2019s facilities and services, from our libraries and leisure centres to theatres, galleries, youth services, water services, and environmental initiatives,\u201d Mayor McKinna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEach term the school holiday program brings our community together. \u2022 Get active<\/strong> \u2013 swim and sport full day programs, junior basketball clinics, pool inflatables, waterslide and Splash Park, and intensive learn to swim classes. Also enter in the Central Coast Skatepark Series held 11 October.
\u2022 Youth Day Out<\/strong> \u2013 roll into BATO Yard 8 October for a day of free activities for all ages and skill levels. The fun activities include skateboard and scooter drop-in and advanced special guest mentor sessions, music and good vibes, creative activities, plus a free community BBQ.
\u2022 Play, create and learn at our libraries<\/strong> – experience glow-in-the-dark crafts and sensory play, building with all-ages LEGO challenges, unleash creativity with tie-dye, painting, and sculpture workshops, or even try Digi Beats hands-on electric music production.
\u2022 Art and theatre<\/strong> – Join art workshops at the Gosford Regional Gallery, including watercolour, collage, manga drawing and jewellery making and enjoy live performances at Laycock Street Community Theatre, with shows like \u2018The Librarian\u2019 and \u2018The Owl\u2019s Apprentice\u2019 set to delight audiences.
\u2022 Pet Pals<\/strong> – come meet some adorable fury friends and learn about being the best pet pal you can with Council Ranger Sara.
\u2022 Environmental and water education<\/strong> – whale talks, build insect hotels, explore rockpools, and discover the wonders of native bees and biodiversity in hands-on workshops. Join the Mini Dam Discovery Day to take a behind-the-scenes tour at Mangrove Creek Dam or join a family-friendly wicking garden bed workshop to learn about waterwise gardening.
