The Central Coast is gearing up for another round of second-hand shopping as the Garage Sale Trail returns for 2025. Spanning two weekends, 8-9 and 15-16 November, this much-loved event will see hundreds of garage sales pop up across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Proudly supported by Central Coast Council, the Garage Sale Trail is Australia\u2019s biggest celebration of pre-loved goods. It\u2019s a chance for locals to declutter, connect with their community and contribute to a more sustainable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council Mayor, Lawrie McKinna said the event is a great way for locals to connect and do something good for the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cParticipating in the Garage Sale Trail is a fun way to meet your neighbours, declutter and keep items out of landfill,\u201d Mayor McKinna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLast year, our community hosted 220 garage sales and helped divert over 98 tonnes of items from landfill, ranking third in NSW and fourth nationally out of 81 councils. Let\u2019s aim even higher this year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Registrations to host a garage sale are now open. Sellers can access a range of resources including promotional materials, how-to guides, and tips for using contactless payment options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council Director Infrastructure Services, Boris Bolgoff, said the event plays an important role in reducing waste and promoting sustainable habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBy encouraging the reuse of items \u2013 especially clothing and household goods \u2013 the Garage Sale Trail helps keep valuable resources out of landfill,\u201d Mr Bolgoff said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
