Central Coast Council is proud to announce completion of Vera\u2019s Water Garden upgrades at The Entrance providing a fun, safe playpark for locals and visitors.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vera\u2019s Water Garden has been transformed into a zero-depth water play park, improving safety, accessibility, and reducing ongoing maintenance.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new design features a range of interactive water elements all designed to spark movement, adventure and sensory play. The upgraded space also includes two accessible wheelchair entry points, sensory and interactive play features, and innovative design to encourage movement and exploration.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council Mayor Lawrie McKinna said Council listened to the community and made sure the upgrade kept Vera\u2019s Water Garden\u2019s special history while adding fresh, modern touches.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe invited the community to have their say on whether Vera\u2019s statue should stay and 3,150 people voted. With 76% saying yes, Vera now stands proudly at the centre of the new water play area, looking better than ever,\u201d Mayor McKinna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe new design brings together fond memories and modern features that make the space safer, easier to access and inclusive play for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhether you’re looking to play and splash or enjoy the shops and cafes, The Entrance is the place to visit this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Australian Government contributed $1.2 million towards The Entrance Revitalisation Project, of which $750,000 was attributed to the upgrades of the Vera\u2019s Water Garden.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Entrance Revitalisation Project also included the installation of an accessible swing at the Waterfront Plaza playspace that was opened in March 2025, and upgrades to Grant McBride Baths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
