If you\u2019ve ever been curious about what it\u2019s like to be on stage without the need to perform in front of a crowd, then The Art House has a unique audience experience to kick off the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cabaret On Stage Sessions<\/em> originally began in October 2020 as a safe way to return to the theatre, and to give local artists a chance to perform after the first COVID lockdown of seven months. The sell-out experience flips the theatre on its head as audiences sit cabaret-style at private tables ON The Art House stage looking out over the auditorium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After another long hiatus from live entertainment, it\u2019s time to swap Netflix and Zoom dates for an in-person night out with the return of The Cabaret On Stage Sessions<\/em> taking place over 2 weekends in January. On the 15th<\/sup> and 16th<\/sup> Central Coast local and musical theatre powerhouse Andrew Worboys (Rent, American Psycho, Merrily We Roll Along) <\/em>and his band The Isolationists are joined by Pippa Grandison (of Muriel\u2019s Wedding<\/em> fame), followed by Erin Clare (recently cast in the hit 9-to-5 The Musical)<\/em> on vocals. The following weekend sees renowned Aussie artist Prinnie Stevens in \u2018Lady Sings the Blues\u2019 followed by the one-and-only Trevor Ashley and his show \u2018Barbra and Me\u2019 \u2013 a tribute to Ms Streisand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For The Art House these sessions are not only a way to give audiences something different but an important opportunity to support artists in what can only be described as a time of turmoil for the live performance industry.
