To improve access and inclusion for people with limited mobility or living with a disability, Council provides beach wheelchairs at 13 beaches and has installed beach matting at four popular locations this Summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Council Administrator, Rik Hart said it\u2019s important to ensure that everyone in our community and visitors can participate in all aspects of community life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith an abundance of beautiful beaches on the Coast, heading to the beach is a major part of our community\u2019s lifestyle and these natural assets attract hundreds of tourists to our region each year,\u201d Mr Hart said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cProviding beach wheelchairs and beach matting improves access and inclusion and ensures everyone can join in and enjoy our coastline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCouncil is committed to the continual improvement of access for people with disabilities, and this is one example of delivering on this goal and implementing actions from our Disability and Inclusion Action Plan<\/a> (DIAP*).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
