The sound of kettles boiling is set to ring across NSW on Thursday 19th May<\/strong> for Australia\u2019s Biggest Morning Tea in support of Cancer Council.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, Cancer Council hopes to recruit over 7,970 generous morning tea hosts in NSW and raise over $4 million to help those affected by cancer. All donations fund Cancer Council\u2019s life-saving research, prevention and support programs alongside information services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea began in 1994, millions of Australians have come together over a cuppa and a bite to eat in support of those affected by cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cancer Council NSW CEO Professor Sarah Hosking said Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea events not only provide a chance to fundraise, but they’re also an opportunity to connect with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere have been significant challenges connecting with people over the past few years. Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea offers a chance for communities to come together and reconnect over a cuppa for a good cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“People are often surprised to hear that one Australian is diagnosed with cancer approximately every 4 minutes. That’s what makes this campaign so important, it provides a space to learn about the challenges faced by those affected by cancer and raise vital funds for cancer care and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA donation as little as $10 can provide online support for people affected by cancer to learn more about their cancer risk, or what diagnosis means \u2013 from the comfort of their own home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCancer affects people in so many ways and impacts every community with over 51,397 cancer cases in NSW this year. It\u2019s vitally important that those affected can access suitable support services, such as Cancer Council 13 11 20 Information and Support Line, accommodation, counselling and peer support programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Every minute, every hour, every day, Cancer Council is here to help those affected by cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, the official day to host a morning tea is Thursday 19th May<\/strong>, however participants can register to host at any time throughout May or June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Community Ambassador for 2022 is local legend Kyla Daniels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyla is the self-taught, creative talent behind the delicious, award-winning Cakes By Kyla located in Gosford, and is also a presenter at Julie Goodwin\u2019s cooking school. Kyla lost her mother-in-law to pancreatic cancer so her motivation to support Cancer Council and its fundraising holds significant meaning to her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
