Its that special time of year where we celebrate Pride Month to mark the anniversary of what became known as the Stonewall Uprising & the start of the Gay Liberation Movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naughty Noodle Fun Haus our motto is \u201cDiversity as the Norm\u201d & our ongoing production Haus presents activations throughout the year that amplify, celebrate & unify our communities. This June is packed with so much hearty Queer goodness before we tuck into the massive planning and action for the much anticipated Coastal Twist Arts & Culture Festival<\/strong><\/a> Sept\/Oct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LITERARY EVENT – WRITERS FESTIVAL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hannah Kent\u2019s debut novel, Burial Rites, was translated into over 30 languages and won the ABIA Literary Fiction Book of the Year, the Indie Awards Debut Fiction Book of the Year, and the Victorian Premier\u2019s People\u2019s Choice Award. It is currently being adapted for film by Sony TriStar. The Good People, Hannah\u2019s second novel, was translated into 10 languages and is currently being adapted for film by Aquarius Productions. Hannah\u2019s third novel, Devotion, was published in 2021.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In Devotion, Hannah Kent has delivered \u201ca gift\u201d to her \u201cyounger, queer, closeted-as-hell self\u201d. After the darkness her previous two bestsellers inhabited \u2013 the real-life historical murder trials of Burial Rites and The Good People \u2013 her latest book turns towards the light with a love story set both in the Lutheran communities of both old-world Prussia, and the new colony of South Australian. Lyrical, raw, beautiful \u2013 it\u2019s classic Hannah Kent and we are so lucky to hear from her firsthand at this evening event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van Badham<\/strong> is a writer, theatre-maker and novelist, occasional broadcaster, critic, trade unionist and feminist. She hosts a weekly podcast that takes a deep-dive into the big news themes of the week. She writes columns for The Guardian<\/strong> and her interests include gardening, baking and dialectical materialism. Van\u2019s most recent book, QAnon and On: A Short and Shocking History of Internet Conspiracy Cults<\/strong> is published by Hardie Grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
