Coastlink is joining the community in celebrating the purchase of its Berkeley Vale Hub, which will allow the organisation to continue to support people living with disability on the Central Coast into the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coastlink\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, John Davis, said the purchase was a testament to the dedication of the organisation\u2019s Board, staff members and entire organisation, which has long been regarded as the Coast\u2019s premier disability and aged care provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur community and centre-based programs really are the backbone of what we do here at Coastlink, and for many people, they\u2019re an absolute lifeline. That\u2019s what makes the permanent acquisition of our Berkley Vale Hub so significant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur programs help people living with disability to gain independence, strengthen their life skills, and most importantly \u2013 live life their way, every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe people who utilise our programs have big dreams, big ideas and big potential, and we\u2019re dedicated to helping them play an active role in their local communities,\u201d Mr Davis said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Run out of both the Berkeley Vale Hub and Woy Woy Hall, Coastlink\u2019s range of Day Program activities have a strong focus on life skills and offer participants the chance to try their hand at everything from cooking, art and computers, to swimming and outdoor fitness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But like so many community-based initiatives, these face-to-face programs were heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and clients, families and staff all felt the impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, the Coastlink team is proud to be back and operating as safely as possible, ensuring people living with disability continue to have access to quality support and opportunities to connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn addition to our Day Programs<\/a>, our Community Access Program<\/a> is really focused on getting individuals safely back out into the community, so they can once again enjoy recreational, social and sporting activities across the Central Coast, Newcastle and Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPlus, we\u2019re continuing to offer our after-school, holiday and weekend programs, as well as our permanent and short-term accommodation options,\u201d Mr Davis said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that\u2019s not all the exciting news on the organisation\u2019s horizon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the coming months, we\u2019ll also be putting the finishing touches on our brand-new Virtual Reality Hub and Gaming Centre for people living with disability, and I\u2019d encourage everyone to keep an eye on our website and social media pages to find out more,\u201d Mr Davis said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
