Eleven young Coasties took the stage for the 2022 Discovered Grand Final at The Hub Erina recently, with Sybella McKay (19 years) taking out first place in the Open Division and Ehryn Bala (12 years) in the Kids Division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council Unit Manager Leisure Beach Safety and Community Facilities, Phil Cantillon said the Discovered competition is a great opportunity to recognise young Central Coast talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019d like to congratulate all contestants who performed in the grand final event, offering an exciting vocal display for those in attendance,\u201d Mr Cantillon said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCentral Coast Council developed the Discovered vocal program and competition with the aim of contributing to the wellbeing of young local singers, whilst helping to build their confidence and allow them to do what they love whilst feeling inspired and challenged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNow in its tenth series, the Discovered competition has engaged over 600 aspiring young singers since its inception, with some going on to perform in Australia\u2019s Got Talent, The Voice, and Australian Idol. I look forward to seeing what this year\u2019s contestants go on to achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council Administrator, Rik Hart said he\u2019d like to congratulate all participants who took part in the Discovered competition throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDiscovered has become a much-loved annual vocal program on the Central Coast and provides great opportunities for young people to engage with the music industry,\u201d Mr Hart said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s evident that we have many talented young people within our region, and it\u2019s important that we continue to nurture their development and growth through offering programs such as the Discovered vocal program and competition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
