The Meals on Wheels Central Coast Tuggerah Team (staff)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the spokes have come together and aligned this year for the local longstanding non-profit organisation, Meals on Wheels Central Coast. The organisation, deeply rooted in the local Central Coast community for over 56 years, has experienced exponential growth and popularity of the meal service to seniors and younger individuals with disabilities, particularly in response to the challenges posed by COVID and now the current high cost of living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With four outlets that span the length of the Central Coast, this local community-centred service has seamlessly met the demands of the growing and ageing population of the Central Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout November, Meals on Wheels Central Coast accomplished a remarkable feat by delivering shy of 18,000 meals to clients\u2019 homes and further 1,800 meals at the popular Community Restaurants.  The organisation\u2019s new CEO, Neridah Morris, attributes the surge in popularity to the introduction of a NEW restaurant quality gourmet range, enriching the menu with an impressive 170 meal choices. The tireless dedication of over 167 volunteers assisting with the free delivery service extending from Pearl Beach in the south to Summerland Point in the north and across to the Hawkesbury River in the west, has played a pivotal role in this achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In true Christmas Spirit, and in celebration of the record-breaking milestone, each Meals on Wheels Central Coast client is receiving a complimentary Christmas Turkey & Ham Roast meal with a cute little festive Gingerbread Man hand delivered by the trusted volunteers in these weeks leading up to Christmas Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over 20 local staff across its four outlets and main distribution centre, Meals on Wheels Central Coast not only ensures the seamless operation of its free delivery service but also assists clients with menu ordering and packs over 1,000 meals daily from Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neridah Morris expressed her satisfaction with the organisation\u2019s expanding reach, stating \u201cIt\u2019s so rewarding to welcome all our lovely new clients this year and to know we\u2019re helping more and more people to live a flourishing, independent life.\u201d Meals on Wheels Central Coast has been a lifeline for family members struggling to support their loved ones to maintain a balanced diet or prepare home cooked meals and to have critical social interaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on its journey since its post-World War II role dealing with rationing and food shortages, Meals on Wheels has evolved into a comprehensive service that goes beyond the delivery of a meal. In addition to offering over 170 delicious and nutritious meals, the organisation also runs four local Community Restaurants, social support, wellness checks, assisted shopping, and even pre-packaged pet food for your furry friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
