Central Coast Council has successfully restored beach access at Soldiers Beach and Jenny Dixon Beach, ensuring residents, visitors and beach patrol teams can enjoy the coastline this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the final pieces of work to be completed this week, the completion of the concrete vehicle access ramp and northern stairs at Soldiers Beach, along with previously finished stairs at Jenny Dixon Beach and Soldiers Beach SLSC, marks the full restoration of access to these popular beaches following significant storm damage in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project was undertaken following $2,443,750 received from Australian and NSW Governments\u2019 through the jointly funded Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements as part of the Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Program to repair the storm damage and restore essential beach access. Central Coast Council provided additional funding to support the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council Director Environment and Planning, Jamie Loader said the newly completed projects are perfectly timed for the upcoming summer season and highlighted the significance of the new vehicle access ramp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The new ramp and stairs at Soldiers Beach provide complete access restoration just in time for summer,” Mr Loader said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This not only enhances pedestrian access for beachgoers but also allows for convenient vehicle access for surf life savers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“As one of the Coast’s 15 patrolled beaches, Soldiers Beach relies on swift emergency response. This new ramp ensures efficient access for beach patrol vehicles, ultimately improving emergency response times and overall beach safety.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Council Mayor, Lawrie McKinna said the completion of the beach access projects is fantastic news for the Central Coast community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
