The Art House brings acclaimed Sydney company Ensemble Theatre direct to Wyong with their high-quality drama The Queen\u2019s Nanny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inspired by historical events, this drama is based on arguably the first occurrence of a public Royal Family scandal sparked by the memoir A Little Princess<\/em> \u2013 The Story of the Queen\u2019s Childhood by Her Nanny<\/em>, Marion Crawford, published in 1950.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Expertly adapted for the stage by Melanie Tait and Priscilla Jackman, this is the story of Marion \u2018Crawfie\u2019 Crawford, who adored her job as governess to Princesses Lillibet and Margaret Rose\u2026 until she was ostracised without warning from the Princesses and the Royal Family following the content of her memoir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShe was a pioneer: the OG Royal memoirist. Her book was the first insight into the Royals behind closed doors<\/em>.\u201d \u2013 Playwright Melanie Tait of Marion Crawford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Along with all of Melanie\u2019s characteristic charm and the extremely talented cast members, audiences can expect to be completely immersed in the dialogue, humour and the true story of The Queen\u2019s Nanny.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMelanie Tait has threaded the needle between sensationalist drama and cosy character study with the skill of a master seamstress<\/em>.\u201d \u2013 Cultural Binge<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is the first time since 2019 that the Central Coast has had an Ensemble Theatre production on home turf, after the WW2 smash-hit Diplomacy<\/em> starring John Bell and John Gaden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Art House has provided the opportunity for theatre aficionados to see more for less with their Scenes & Queens Drama Package.
