A fresh tall-tale: Beanstalk sprouts at The Art House Wyong<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get ready for a giant-sized retelling of a beloved fairytale when Beanstalk opens at The Art House Wyong this Spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A whimsical and lighthearted take on the classic tale of Jack & The Beanstalk, this hilarious puppet show by Spare Parts Puppet Theatre. Taking the story and turning it on its head, Beanstalk is Jack\u2019s hero\u2019s tale told from the Giant\u2019s point of view and boy do they have a VERY different story to tell!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step into Sue the Giant\u2019s cloud making kitchen as they regale audiences with their version of what really happened that fateful day Jack climbed the beanstalk. Was it just the Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum grim tale we all grew up with, or is there more to the story?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weaving humour with simple puppetry and easy to follow storytelling, Beanstalk is perfect for children aged 7 and under and is an especially good first theatre experience for toddlers. The production is playful, non-threatening and a little bit silly, making it ideal for young children who aren\u2019t used to attending live performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With strong literary and personal development curriculum links, Beanstalk is also ideal for educators looking for a theatre excursion. The fresh perspective the work offers, as well as its key message that there are always two sides to every story, enables learning and discussion opportunities around empathy, perspective, and the importance of not judging others solely on their appearance. Each performance also includes a 10-minute post-show Q&A with the performers, adding an additional layer of engagement and learning for students interested in stagecraft, puppetry and performing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beanstalk will be performed at The Art House Wyong on November 11th and 12th, with 10AM and 12:30PM session times. The show will be performed in The Art House Studio, the venue\u2019s intimate and relaxed general admission performance space.
