Central Coast Council is pleased to announce that Regional Cinemas Australia has been selected as the new operator of Lake Haven Cinemas, marking an important step towards reopening the much-loved community facility.
The appointment follows an extensive expression of interest and assessment process to secure an experienced operator capable of delivering a quality cinema experience for residents and visitors.
Council Mayor, Lawrie McKinna said the appointment of a new operator for Lake Haven Cinemas was welcome news for the community, which has been eagerly awaiting the cinema’s return.
“We know how much the community values the cinema at Lake Haven, and we’re excited to see it reopening soon,” Mayor McKinna said.
“Getting this important community facility back up and running has been a priority for Council. This is a significant milestone and an important step towards welcoming moviegoers back to Lake Haven.”
Following Council’s decision at the January 2026 Ordinary Council Meeting to enter into a seven-year lease, Regional Cinemas Australia has signed the agreement and is looking to reopen cinema doors for the school holidays in September.
Further information about opening dates, programming and ticket sales will be announced by the operator.
