Central Coast Acoustic Songwriter Sessions to launch at The Entrance Lake House

The Entrance Lake House will be hosting a bi monthly singer / songwriter night showcasing local up coming musicians and the stories behind their original songs. An intimate night of music not to be missed!

Supported by local community radio station, Coast FM and organised by local musicians, Michelle Murrell and Meagan Jane, each night will showcase three different songwriters from the Central Coast and surrounding areas in an intimate dinner and show setting.

The first event will be held on Friday 30th June from 6.30pm and will feature local songwriters:

  • Mitchi Renegen
  • Meagan Jane
  • Jye Sharp

Tickets are $25 each and include a drink from the bar on arrival.

ARTIST BIO’s
Mitchi Renegen:

Mitchi Renegen grew up by the beaches of the Central Coast 100 kms north of Sydney. A singer songwriter who developed a unique style from his immersion in all genres of late 50’s, the 60’s and 70’s music (from his family’s vinyl record collection).

Mitchi’s voice is expressive, passionate and unique; he simply doesn’t sound like anyone else.

His original music falls into the genre of Coastal Country; which can be best described as melodic folk and rock, using traditional country instruments. His music and lyrics reflect his thoughts, feelings and views of the world bringing a new perspective and incisive wit to his tales of the highs and lows of real life, living as a traveling musician and concreter (leading to being affectionately known as the ‘singing concreter’).

Mitchi Renegen has traveled as a singer/busker not only around Australia but also Internationally, playing across Europe and the UK. Highlights of his career include River Jam (Russel Morris), support for Bill Chambers, Cavern Club in Liverpool as well as live shows inThe Netherlands, Edinburgh Castle and by the Berlin Wall Germany.

2023 is set to be a big year with the release of his new album ‘Echoes of the Boom’ (released later this year) a dynamic and dramatic collection of songs reminiscent of Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Cat Stevens and David Grey.

Meagan Jane:
Meagan Jane is a singer/songwriter originating from the NSW Central Coast. With roots being in Country music, Meagan adds a rock flare that creates a rustic undertone to her style. Not to mention her incredible sounding vocals influenced by the likes of Alanis Morisette, Missy Higgins & Fleetwood Mac, Meagan’s voice has the ability to make you feel a sense of warmth & home. With a close relationship to music from a young age, finding her voice at age 12, to learning guitar & then studying at the Australian Institute of Music in her early adult life. Meagan performs regularly across the Central Coast, Newcastle & Hunter Regions.

With a true love for song writing, Meagan draws from past experiences, memories & personal loss, telling stories straight from her heart. Meagan released her first debut single ‘Kiss Me’ in March, 2021, reaching #12 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts original release. This year, Meagan has been in the studio working on her debut EP ‘Guide Myself Home’ set for release mid 2023.The first track released ‘Born On the Coast’ sets the tone for Meagan’s EP, with its upbeat tempo & catchy chorus. The track has been very popular among her audience base & will leave you with a sense of childhood nostalgia.

Meagan’s latest single release is the title track to her EP, ‘Guide Myself Home’. This pop-country track began as a break up song but lyrically turned into a song about finding yourself, following your dreams & not holding back. Featured on ABC Country, Grass Roots, the positive upbeat energy that the track brings will leave anyone feeling up uplifted!

When Meagan isn’t performing live or spilling her heart to paper, she devotes herself to running her own studio ‘Meagan Jane Vocal studio’, a passion of teaching young aspiring singers the wonders of the voice and building their confidence in performing and song writing.

With multiple tracks being released over the course of the year, 2023 is shaping up to be a full year of original music for Meagan Jane & her career.

Jye Sharp:
Jye Sharp is a multi instrumentalist from the Central Coast of Australia. Sharp has been playing festivals, pubs, clubs, theatres etc since he was 17. Now 26 his career has seen him be a support act for Xavier Rudd, Pete Murray, Ash Grunwald, Mental As Anything, Diesel, The Sea Gypsies and more. He has released two EP’s, a handful of a singles and is set to release his debut album in late 2023. His live shows present his one man band solo show to your ears with foot stomping beats, heavy strumming, and feel good melodies. He sounds as if Xavier Rudd, John Butler and Bernard Fanning were thrown into a blender!
