Its Mardi Gras month across Australia and this Thursday the super popular monthly locals feelgood event “The Welcome Choir” returns, think Karaoke in a bar singing shoulder to shoulder with friends new and old. A drop in choir with no auditions and no need to read music as it is taught by ear. Each gathering will be a brand-new song & this week in celebration of Mardigras, diversity, inclusion & yes DISCO we are all learning and singing “We are Family” by Sister Sledge with a beer or mocktail in hand The Welcome Choir is an open, friendly, all ages singing group of all singing abilities.

Friday Night it’s the return of the movie night Cult Vault with a very special MardiGras screening of the iconic Australian movie The Adventures of Pricilla Queen of the desert. Its free, rated M, come down for Empanada Supper & drinks for a very special movie club with a Twist.

Saturday night is the Mardigras parade & if you cant make it in to Sydney for the big event you can come & hang with community at the Central Coasts official Mardigras viewing party live on the big screen. Lets cheer on our local “Coastal Twist Festival” float together & enjoy a family friendly event with local DJ Ruby Red & Drag performances.

Every Sunday its free live music with Sonic Sundays with a new aural flavour every week. This week we present turning off the M1 to the Central Coast on their East Coast Folk tour Karl S Williams who joins forces with renowned percussionist Sally Wiggins. Bringing his folk, blues and gospel inflected songs into fascinating new territory. With an expansive musical vocabulary, the duo engage in an exciting dialogue. This is a dance which is at once playful, lyrical and deeply moving. It’s a daytime, all ages/family friendly event where you can grab a Columbian Empanada lunch & cheeky Sunday arvo drink. Doors open 2pm. Pull up a seat on the deck overlooking Kibble Park & take in the tunes & support independent musicians & the live economy.
