Bye bye lockdowns Its time to shake ourselves off and get amongst it again with a saucy season of 2022 programming kicking off as the Naughty Noodle opens its Covid Curtains in March for International Women’s Day with one of the most Iconic annual fundraisers for the organisation.
Rayon Riot now in its 4th year is widely known as the largest International Women’s Day event on the Central Coast, the annual sell-out Cabaret also a part of the broader Central Coast Festival of Women. Naughty Noodle Fun Haus Creative Director stated “You betcha we are shining a spotlight on the breathtaking diversity of women’s voices again this year. This year’s line-up includes the Global phenomena, South Asian Matriarchs “The Bindi Bosses” hitting the Coast for one very special night only! Their mind-blowing performance shattering outdated stereotypes blending Semi-Classical Indian with Bollywood, Kuthu, Hip Hop, Dancehall and other dance styles from around the world”
Rayon Riot also welcomes Vashti Hughes performer, writer, producer. Fresh off her sell out Stories from Razorhurst”, playing five characters of Sydney’s razor gang era characters, headed by Tilly Devine and Kate Leigh, there is also Karlee Misi a Maori/Niuean Performing Artist and triple threat (Singer dancer actor) who has spent the past 16 years teaching and working in Musical Theatre (Barnum, A Chorus Line, Hairspray), and performing on global stages and screens. Vogue dance, Burlesque, and Theatre are her passions so we are going to get a real taste there. Sydney based performance artist Emma Maye Gibson (AKA Betty Grumble) with engaging work which is a genre smash of ritual physical theatre, cabaret, performance art and multi-media. It’s also a night for locals to shine with Sensational, original teller of tales singer/ songwriter Corrie Hodson a proud Wiradjuri /Ngunnawal woman and Nina Angelo, respected – Author – Artist – Storyteller – Public speaker.”
This year’s International Woman’s Day theme is #BreakTheBias. So come join us and celebrate women’s achievement as we raise awareness against bias (even our own) and take action for equality.
