Your Ultimate Guide to Central Coast School Holiday Fun

Central Coast Council is bringing together activities, events and experiences from across its venues and teams to help families make the most of the break with free or affordable events. 

From skateboarding clinics, youth events and theatre performances to environmental workshops, gallery activities and family fun at our libraries and leisure centres, there’s something for every age and interest.  

• Out in the environment – Explore the deep connection between Aboriginal people, waterways and Country. Go on a wild waterbug hunt, attend whale talks, join nature wellness walks, bushtucker and ancient medicine wonders, waterways boat litter clean-ups, bird spotting or learn how to plant a water-wise garden of succulents. 
•  Arts and culture – Get creative with Gosford Regional Gallery workshops and exhibitions, enjoy hands-on arts activities and experience family-friendly performances at Laycock Street Community Theatre. Some of the classes include Paint Like Banksy, The Art of Crochet and Make a Japanese Zen Terrarium. 
• Youth events – Encourage teens to head to Youth Day Out at Terrigal Beach Foreshore Reserve for an epic day with DJs, a silent disco, sports, creative activities, music, giveaways and loads of fun for ages 12-24.  There’s also skateboarding clinics and other youth events for young people to connect, have fun and try something new.
• Libraries and learning – Discover library activities and workshops designed to spark imagination, creativity and learning, with plenty of fun for children and families. Don’t miss 3D printing, robotics, magic shows, design t-shirts, writing workshops and lots more.
• Sport and active fun – Keep moving with school holiday programs at Council’s leisure centres, packed with activities to build skills, stay active and have fun. There’s swim clinics, drop-in junior sport sessions, pool inflatables and also skatepark events and competitions.
• Family fun – Enjoy Pelican Time and a range of family-friendly experiences across Council venues, offering something for all ages these school holidays.
