An interactive adventure through First Nations culture for kids @The Art House

by LukeAdmin

The Art House invites kids to interact, play, and perform with dynamic projections, sensors, and infrared cameras in the immersive multi-media piece Saltbush.

A journey on Country is brought to life in this interactive experience which follows two friends and their spiritual guide on foot as they cross Australian landscapes – river country, an urban landscape, desert, and the sea.

Performed on a touch-sensitive carpet that initiates image, sound and animation, the stage comes alive with patterns allowing young audiences to discover the land, grow and understanding, and acknowledge how it shapes us. Featuring design, dance and instrumental music created by First Nations artists, Saltbush combines modern technology with the traditions of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures of Australia.

This engaging sensory experience is a unique opportunity for kids aged 3+ to be an active part of the performance, and for parents and teachers to witness the children become involved.

Both early evening and daytime shows are available, alongside opportunities for school group excursions.
