Internationally acclaimed circus acrobats Circa, are returning to The Art House with a powerful new production Wolf.
From towering human pyramids to gravity defying flips, this is acrobatics at its most exhilarating. Audiences can expect to be on the edge of their seats while ten extraordinary acrobats push their bodies to wild limits in a performance that is impossible to look away from.
Clad in Libby McDonnell’s striking costumes and driven by DJ Ori Lichtik’s pulsing primal music, they climb, collide and balance and soar in a breathtaking display of precision and fearless physicality. Director Yaron Lifschitz draws upon the wolf as a symbol of our untameable selves. In two acts, the acrobatic wolves evolve from chaotic animals into a choreographed pack of raw energy.
After twenty years of redefining the possibilities of circus, Circa continue to prove why they are considered the pinnacle of Australian contemporary acrobatics. The boundary-pushing company has captivated audiences across six continents and earned international acclaim for their unmatched skill.
Wyong audiences will remember Circa’s appearance last year with Duck Pond, which left crowds cheering for more. Now the company returns with a production that takes their signature style to greater levels of acrobatic intensity.
Wolf broke box office records during its seven-month debut at Berlin’s Chamäleon Theatre, making it the highest grossing season in the venue’s history. The show now arrives in Wyong for two shows only – one matinee and one evening.
