International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity and significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality.
Naughty Noodle Fun Haus will once again back in the Ettalong venue to shine a brand-new spotlight on the breathtaking diversity of women’s voices as Creative Director and previous NSW Woman of the year finalist Glitta Supernova Present’s a monumental, multi-generational & multi-cultural line-up of female artists exploring resilience, empowerment & liberation through Comedy, Storytelling, Burlesque, Dance, Cabaret & Drag.
It’s a full girl power Cabaret & an opportunity to challenge your assumptions, bust apart stereotypes and celebrate in a fun and vibrant way with an evening of original, contemporary, cutting-edge performance featuring Bollywood dancer, actor, and aerials by Bolly Golightly, the Physical absurdist comedy of Hart & Low, Taimania the Polynesian princess & ballroom royalty, AFAB Queen Foxxe Faux & even get up close & personal with a 1st time empowering live storytelling performance from Gold medal winning Paralympian and local MP Liesl Tesch.
This year’s International Woman’s Day theme is “Inspire Inclusion.” When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment.
“People in the art world want to think we are achieving parity more quickly than we are but we still have a long way to go. Women artists are systematically disadvantaged across cultural fields & the truth is that women have never been treated equally in the art world, and today they remain dramatically underrepresented and undervalued across the music industry, theatre, museums, galleries.
“That’s why its so important to support & nurture self-produced female artist, its them representing themselves, their voices, their stories & their talent. Expect the unexpected, expect diversity as the norm, expect to hear, see & feel the revolution that’s not being televised!” stated Glitta Supernova.
“It’s all about fun & self-expression at the Noodle & we strongly encourage dress-ups, so adorn yourself as your favourite Shero. It’s going to be a very special evening so Let’s get Matriarchal! Grab your partners, Grandmas, sons and daughters or your entire gal pal crew for a wild & special evening celebrating all things Women! “
