Terrigal Haven Dog Park: Have Your Say on the New Off-Leash Designs

by LukeAdmin

Central Coast Council is inviting the community to provide feedback on three concept design options for a proposed fenced off-leash dog park at Terrigal Haven by 17 September.

The consultation is part of Council’s Dogs in Open Space Action Plan and aims to improve safety, amenity and clarity around dog access in one of the Coast’s most popular shared spaces, Terrigal Haven.

The three concept options include a mix of layouts, with one featuring a single fenced area with internal separation for small and large dogs, another providing two fully separate fenced areas for different dog sizes, and another combining a smaller fenced space with a larger open dog exercise area, with all options also including upgraded pathways and access, shaded structures, an agility tunnel and a dog stick library.

Council Mayor, Lawrie McKinna said engaging with the community about the Terrigal Haven Dog Park will assist Council to better understand the community’s views, experiences, concerns and expectations before any future Council decision is considered.

“I know how important The Haven is to our community, and I also know that views on dog access can vary. That’s why I’m asking everyone, from dog owners, visitors, residents and non-dog owners, to view the three options and have their say.”

“Hearing from the community will help Council consider how best to balance the needs of all users from across our community.”

Community feedback will be considered alongside technical, environmental, safety and funding factors before determining the next steps.
