As part of its $32 million redevelopment, Gosford Private Hospital is building a brand new, purpose-built Maternity Ward for local Central Coast families.
Due to open in April 2021, Gosford Private’s new ward will remain the only dedicated private maternity unit on the Coast, offering an extended stay for women and their partners, unmatched comfort including all meals and snacks, inpatient education and around the clock support, plus much more.
Building on the hospital’s already strong reputation for excellent midwife care, the new ward will offer families a home-like birthing experience that is second-to-none.
“We are delighted to be offering such a wonderful service for our local families. Being able to build a new maternity ward from scratch is a dream come true. We’re proud of the incredible service we already offer for local families, and believe the new ward will provide us with a wonderful, nurturing environment and facilities to match,” says Maternity Nurse Unit Manager, Robyn Gasparotto.
Incorporated into the new ward will be three exquisitely styled, sun-filled and spacious birthing suites, including luxurious deep baths to facilitate water immersion births.
Each of the twelve postnatal suites will include their own ensuite, a tranquil leafy outlook, pull down Murphy beds for partners, and facilities akin to a high end hotel.
A state-of-the-art Special Care Nursery incorporating five licensed bays, will ensure the best possible care is available on-site for premature babies and those requiring additional care after birth.
The inclusion of a bathing demonstration room, antenatal assessment rooms and a purpose-built education hub for patients, will ensure that all families receive the care and support they need throughout their pregnancy and in the precious first days after birth.
“We recognise that this is a very important and special time in the lives of our patients and their families. We are committed to providing the best possible experience, in a respectful and positive setting, while recognising the individual and personal needs of each and every family”, says Robyn.
