Described as a mini Spiegeltent vibe hosting Contemporary & Fringe global Culture the 1st 8 weeks of operation have seen events spilling out of the FunHaus into Kibble Park unleashing a sparkle across the city centre as the activations continue to expand and gain momentum & audience as word spreads about the “funky little Arts Bar in Gosford which could be anywhere in the world”, indeed engaging audiences who would otherwise go out in Sydney or Newcastle, the Arts centre features what audiences would expect in any inner-city hub but right here in the heart of Gosford.
If you were wanting something original and outside the regular coastie cookie cutter mould, then look no further this week featuring literary & storytelling for the second edition of ‘A Kink in The Tale’, the new live and local storytelling event for adults! The event embraces sex-positive and inclusive stories told live on stage. Celebrated author/director/producer and writer Cadance Bell, is this month’s special Guest, her memoir, The All of It: A Bogan Rhapsody shortlisted for The Age Book of the Year. Cadence will be joined by fellow storytellers Paris Rosemont (Banana Girl), Jim Lawson, Daniel McIvor and hosted by writer and Jazz musician Donné Restom. Open to all who appreciate a good bedtime story with a twist. Get ready to laugh, gasp, blush and cry all at the same time.
Friday “Tis the season to be Fabulous!”. kicking off the Holiday Season in style with “A Very Drag Xmas Cabaret.” Hosted by Australian Drag King legend Sexy Galexy and featuring Sydney’s dazzling Drag Queen Dakota Fannee, local Cabaret icon Shauna Jensen & Max Paxwel, a wonderful work party idea, there will also be games and giveaways to keep you entertained & holiday spirit like never before.
Saturday’s @ the FunHaus is all about the locals and features a weekly Dog friendly drink & dining experience “Dogs on the Deck” continues growing in popularity every Saturday from 5pm-7pm. The perfect way to unwind on a Saturday arvo with our fluffy pals. 6pm our resident DJ hits the decks & takes us into the night with special guests this weekend the Central Coast House collective, expect beautiful house music with a funky, latino, deep, afro and tech vibe from our hosts Winston, Ferrero and Friends.
